Here's the simple version: maitake mushroom may gently lower your blood sugar on its own. Some research in people with type 2 diabetes found that maitake polysaccharide nudged glucose levels down. Insulin lispro also lowers blood sugar, so stacking the two could push your numbers lower than you expect.

If that happens, you might notice signs of hypoglycemia like shakiness, sweating, a racing heart, hunger, confusion, or feeling lightheaded. Keep in mind this concern is mostly theoretical and based on limited research, and eating maitake as food is unlikely to cause trouble. Concentrated supplements are the bigger question mark. Don't change your insulin dose on your own. Just check your sugars more closely and talk with your pharmacist or doctor before adding a maitake supplement.

What Is Insulin Lispro Injection Used For?

Brand names: Admelog, Admelog Solostar

Insulin lispro injection is used to improve glycemic control (blood sugar management) in people with diabetes mellitus. It is a rapid-acting insulin analog approved for use in both type 1 and type 2 diabetes.

Admelog is specifically indicated to improve glycemic control in patients with diabetes mellitus. Humalog Mix75/25 is indicated to improve glycemic control in adults with diabetes mellitus; it is a fixed-ratio mixture of insulin lispro and insulin lispro protamine, and its fixed proportions do not allow for separate adjustment of basal (background) and prandial (mealtime) doses.
