CNS DEPRESSANTS
Why this applies to Oxycodone
Oxycodone falls under CNS DEPRESSANTS — the group Marsh Labrador Tea interacts with.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the short version: Marsh Labrador tea may add to the sedating, slowing-down effects of oxycodone. Oxycodone is already a strong opioid that calms the central nervous system, and this herb has been noted to deepen the drowsiness caused by other calming substances like alcohol and barbiturates. Stack them together and you could feel more sleepy, foggy, dizzy, or unsteady than usual, and in theory your breathing could become slower, which is the most serious concern with any opioid.
I'll be honest, this warning is theoretical and based on how the herb behaves, not on solid human studies. Given that Marsh Labrador tea also contains potentially toxic compounds, I'd steer clear of it while on oxycodone and check with your pharmacist or doctor first.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Oxycodone page
“Oxycodone is a potent opioid painkiller, and anything that deepens its sedation can slow breathing itself, which is why this list deserves genuine respect. Of the 145 supplement and herbal ingredients on record, eight rate major, and the biggest cluster by far, 78 ingredients, adds extra drowsiness on top of the opioid's own.”

About Marsh Labrador Tea
What is Marsh Labrador Tea?
- Colds and respiratory complaints
- Cough and congestion
- Mild aches and joint discomfort
- Topical relief of skin irritation, swelling, and insect bites
- Traditional use as a diuretic
Marsh Labrador tea is a bog-growing shrub used in folk medicine for coughs, colds, and skin problems, but high-quality human evidence for any use is lacking. Because it contains grayanotoxins (andromedotoxin) that can be poisonous, it is not considered safe for routine use, and pregnant or breastfeeding people should avoid it.
About Oxycodone
What Is Oxycodone Used For?
Brand names: OxyContin, Roxicodone, OxyIR, Percolone, Oxecta, OxyNeo
Oxycodone treats pain that is severe enough to need an opioid pain medicine, when other treatments are not enough. Other options include non-opioid pain relievers or opioid combination products.
Some products are for specific situations. Extended-release products (OxyContin, Xtampza ER, and oxycodone extended-release tablets) are for severe, persistent pain that needs daily, around-the-clock treatment. They are not for as-needed use. The 100 mg per 5 mL (20 mg/mL) oral solution is only for opioid-tolerant patients. Oxaydo is labeled for acute and chronic pain.
