Lusutrombopag falls under P-GLYCOPROTEIN SUBSTRATES — the group Neem interacts with.

Theoretically, neem leaf extract might increase the levels and clinical effects of P-glycoprotein substrates.
In vitro research shows that neem leaf methanol extract inhibits renal P-glycoprotein transport activity. So far, this reaction has not been reported in humans.

Here's the short version for Mulpleta (lusutrombopag): it's handled in part by a transporter called P-glycoprotein, which helps move the drug around and out of your body. In lab dish studies only, neem leaf extract seemed to slow that transporter down. If that happened in people, lusutrombopag could build up a bit more than expected, which in theory might raise your platelet count more than intended or add side effects like headache or, rarely, a clotting concern.

I want to be honest about the strength here: this is theoretical, based on test-tube work, and has never been reported in real patients. Lusutrombopag is also usually a short course before a procedure. Still, since timing matters for this drug, please run any neem product by your pharmacist or doctor first.

What Is Lusutrombopag Used For?

Brand name: Mulpleta

Mulpleta (lusutrombopag) is used to treat thrombocytopenia — a low platelet count — in adults who have chronic liver disease and are scheduled to have a procedure. Raising the platelet count before the procedure helps reduce the risk of bleeding.

Mulpleta is taken for a short, fixed course before the procedure. It is not meant to be used to bring platelet counts all the way to normal, or for long-term management of chronic liver disease.
