Here's the simple version: noni juice may have a mild blood-pressure-lowering effect of its own. Since eprosartan (Teveten) is already working to relax your blood vessels and bring your numbers down, adding noni could push your pressure a little lower than expected. This isn't about how your body breaks the drug down. It's just two things nudging in the same direction.

If your blood pressure drops too far, you might feel dizzy, lightheaded, tired, or a bit woozy when you stand up quickly. To be fair, the evidence here is weak and mostly anecdotal, so this is more of a theoretical caution than a proven problem. Still, if you'd like to try noni, please check with your pharmacist or doctor first and keep an eye on your readings.

Theoretically, combining noni and ARBs might increase the risk of hyperkalemia.
Noni juice contains significant amounts of potassium, about 6 mEq/100 mL juice. This may increase the risk for hyperkalemia when used in conjunction with ARBs, which can also increase potassium levels.

Here's the thing to know about pairing noni with eprosartan (Teveten): it's really about potassium, not how the drug is broken down. Eprosartan works right away to relax your blood vessels, and one of its built-in effects is that it tends to nudge your potassium levels up a bit. Noni juice happens to be fairly high in potassium too, so stacking the two could push your potassium higher than you'd want.

When potassium climbs too far, you might feel muscle weakness, tingling, or notice an irregular heartbeat, though many people feel nothing until it's caught on bloodwork. To be fair, this concern is theoretical and based mostly on anecdotal reports, not strong studies, so it's not a reason to panic. Still, if you'd like to use noni regularly, check with your pharmacist or doctor first, especially if your kidneys aren't in top shape.

What Is Eprosartan Used For?

  • Eprosartan is used alone or in combination with other medications to treat high blood pressure. Eprosartan is in a class of medications called angiotensin II receptor antagonists. It works by blocking the action of certain natural substances that tighten the blood vessels, allowing the blood to flow more smoothly and the heart to pump more efficiently.

  • High blood pressure is a common condition, and when not treated it can cause damage to the brain, heart, blood vessels, kidneys, and other parts of the body. Damage to these organs may cause heart disease, a heart attack, heart failure, stroke, kidney failure, loss of vision, and other problems. In addition to taking medication, making lifestyle changes will also help to control your blood pressure. These changes include eating a diet that is low in fat and salt, maintaining a healthy weight, exercising at least 30 minutes most days, not smoking, and using alcohol in moderation.
