Dr. Brian Staiger explains PharmD, Clinical Pharmacist

Here's the gist: penbutolol (Levatol) is a beta blocker that already works to bring your blood pressure down and slow your heart rate. Some early research hints that noni juice on its own may also nudge blood pressure lower. So if you pair the two, the worry is mostly about the effects stacking up and your pressure dropping a little more than expected.

If that happens, you might notice lightheadedness, dizziness when you stand up, unusual tiredness, or a slow pulse. Honestly, this is a theoretical concern based on weak, anecdotal reports, not strong proof, so don't panic. Still, since you're treating high blood pressure, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before adding noni, and check your readings if you do.

Noni is a tropical fruit used widely in folk medicine and sold mostly as a juice or supplement, but solid human evidence for its many claimed benefits is limited. While moderate juice intake is generally well tolerated, there are rare reports of liver problems, and it should be avoided in pregnancy and breastfeeding. Talk with your pharmacist or doctor before using it, especially if you have kidney or liver disease.
