Here's the simple version: the berberine in phellodendron may gently slow down a liver enzyme called CYP2C9, which is one of the pathways your body uses to clear omeprazole (the acid-blocking part of Konvomep). If that pathway slows, a little more omeprazole could linger in your system, which in theory might mean slightly stronger or longer-lasting effects, or side effects like headache, nausea, or stomach upset.

The good news is that this is only a theoretical concern based on how berberine behaves in lab and early studies, not real-world reports of people getting into trouble. Omeprazole is also a pretty forgiving medication. Still, since phellodendron is often blended with other herbs, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

Here's the gist for your Konvomep (omeprazole with sodium bicarbonate).
