Pomegranate + Trimipramine
Trimipramine brand names: Surmontil, Trimip, Rhotrimine, Tripramine, Trimp.
Pomegranate has a minor interaction with Trimipramine. Theoretically, pomegranate might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP2C9.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CYTOCHROME P450 2C9 (CYP2C9) SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Trimipramine
Trimipramine falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2C9 (CYP2C9) SUBSTRATES — the group Pomegranate interacts with.
Some animal and in vitro research shows that pomegranate juice inhibits intestinal, but not hepatic, CYP2C9 isoenzyme activity. However, clinical research shows that neither pomegranate juice nor pomegranate extract have a significant effect on CYP2C9 activity in humans.
Interaction has been demonstrated in animal or in lab research but has been shown not to occur in humans..
Here's the short version: this is a very mild, mostly theoretical concern. Pomegranate can block an enzyme called CYP2C9 in the gut, and trimipramine is partly handled by that enzyme. In theory, slowing that breakdown could let a bit more trimipramine build up, which might bump up its usual side effects like drowsiness, dry mouth, constipation, blurry vision, or feeling lightheaded when you stand.
The reassuring part is that human studies have found pomegranate juice and extract don't actually change CYP2C9 activity in a meaningful way. So enjoying pomegranate as a food or juice is very unlikely to cause trouble. If you're using a concentrated extract, just mention it to your pharmacist or doctor so they can keep an eye out.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Trimipramine page
“If you take trimipramine (Surmontil), a tricyclic antidepressant, read this list carefully. Nine of the 139 supplements and herbs on file are rated major, and most touch the heart: several, grapefruit among them, can stretch the QT interval, the heart's electrical reset time, and raise the risk of a dangerous rhythm.”

About Pomegranate
What is Pomegranate?
- Heart and blood vessel health
- Antioxidant support
- High blood pressure
- Inflammation
- Digestive upset
- Skin health
Pomegranate is a nutrient-rich fruit that is high in antioxidants and is widely enjoyed as food and juice. Early research suggests it may support heart health and blood pressure, but the evidence is still limited and not strong enough to call it a proven treatment. As a food it is generally safe, but talk to your pharmacist or doctor before using concentrated extracts, especially if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or take medications.
About Trimipramine
What Is Trimipramine Used For?
Brand names: Surmontil, Trimip, Rhotrimine, Tripramine, Trimp
Trimipramine capsules are indicated for the relief of symptoms of depression. Endogenous depression — depression that arises from within, rather than from an obvious outside cause — is more likely to respond to treatment than other types.
In clinical studies, trimipramine worked as well as imipramine in hospitalized patients with depression, and was comparable to amitriptyline in less severely depressed outpatients.

Trimipramine Is Linked to Lower Levels of 3 Nutrients
Natural Medicines records Trimipramine as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Pomegranate — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
