This combination product mixes aspirin, codeine, and the muscle relaxer methocarbamol. The piece that matters here is the methocarbamol, since muscle relaxants can slightly lower the seizure threshold (basically make the brain a touch more prone to a seizure). Rauwolscine, a stimulant cousin of yohimbine, may do the same thing. Stack them together and, in theory, you could nudge that risk a little higher.

I want to be honest about the evidence though: this concern comes from one animal study, not from people. For most folks without a seizure history it's likely a small worry. Still, rauwolscine can also raise your heart rate and blood pressure, so check with your pharmacist or doctor before pairing them, especially if you've ever had seizures.

Here's the wrinkle with this combo: the codeine in Robaxisal C is actually a prodrug. Your body uses an enzyme called CYP2D6 to turn codeine into morphine, which is what gives you the pain relief. Rauwolscine is a close cousin of yohimbine, and lab studies suggest yohimbine can slow down that same CYP2D6 enzyme.

So in theory, rauwolscine could block codeine from being converted to morphine, meaning you might get less pain relief than expected. I'll stress that this is theoretical, based only on test-tube data, so we don't know how much it really matters in real life. On top of that, rauwolscine is a stimulant that raises heart rate and blood pressure, which isn't a great pairing with a sedating drug like this. Please run it by your pharmacist or doctor first.

This combination product contains aspirin, which is a blood thinner that works by stopping your platelets from clumping together. The concern here is that rauwolscine may, in theory, do something similar. If both nudge your platelets in the same direction, the bleeding-related effects of the aspirin could add up. That might show up as easier bruising, nosebleeds, bleeding gums, or a cut that takes longer to stop.

I want to be honest about the strength of this: it's theoretical, based mostly on lab studies of yohimbine (a close cousin of rauwolscine), not real-world human data. So it's worth knowing, not panicking over. Rauwolscine also raises heart rate and blood pressure on its own, so check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining the two.
