Doxepin falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES — the group Rauwolscine interacts with.

Theoretically, rauwolscine might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP2D6.
Rauwolscine is structurally related to yohimbine. In vitro research shows that yohimbine inhibits CYP2D6 enzyme activity.

Here's the gist for these two. Your body relies on a liver enzyme called CYP2D6 to help clear doxepin out of your system. Rauwolscine is a cousin of yohimbine, and in lab tests yohimbine can slow that same enzyme down. If rauwolscine does the same in people, doxepin could build up a bit higher than expected.

More doxepin in your blood can mean stronger drowsiness, dry mouth, constipation, dizziness, or a faster or irregular heartbeat. That last part matters because rauwolscine itself revs up heart rate and blood pressure, so you'd be pushing in two directions at once. To be fair, this is only a theoretical concern based on lab data, not real patient reports. Still, run it by your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.
