Here's the basic idea with rauwolscine and proguanil (Paludrine), the antimalarial. Some medicines can nudge the brain a little closer to having a seizure, and proguanil falls into that loose group. Rauwolscine, a stimulant cousin of yohimbine, may do the same thing. Stacking two things that both lower the seizure threshold could, in theory, raise the chance of convulsions, especially if you're already prone to seizures.

I want to be honest about how thin this evidence is. It comes from animal research using a different drug, not from people taking proguanil. For most folks the real-world risk is likely small. Still, since rauwolscine itself can spike heart rate, blood pressure, and anxiety, I'd run this combo past your pharmacist or doctor before using both.
