Here's the practical side of pairing Rhodiola with metoclopramide (Reglan). Metoclopramide can already make some folks feel drowsy, foggy, or tired on its own. Rhodiola gets grouped with substances that may add to that sedating effect, so the worry is that the two together could leave you feeling sleepier or more sluggish than expected.

I'll be honest with you: this one is theoretical and rated minor. The evidence is just a handful of anecdotal reports, and those involved different drugs, not metoclopramide. Still, since metoclopramide can occasionally cause restlessness or muscle twitching, it's worth being a little cautious. If you'd like to try Rhodiola, run it by your pharmacist or doctor first and watch how you feel.

Rhodiola is an herb traditionally used to fight fatigue and help the body cope with stress. Some small studies suggest it may modestly reduce fatigue and improve mood, but the evidence is limited and not strong. It is generally well tolerated for short-term use, but talk to your pharmacist or doctor before trying it, and avoid it during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

About Metoclopramide

What Is Metoclopramide Used For?

Brand names: Reglan, Metoclopramide Injection, Octamide

Metoclopramide tablets are used in adults for two main conditions. First, they treat symptomatic gastroesophageal reflux (GERD — when stomach acid backs up into the esophagus) in people who haven't gotten relief from standard treatments. Second, they ease symptoms of diabetic gastroparesis, a condition where nerve damage from diabetes causes the stomach to empty too slowly.

Treatment is meant to be short-term. For acid reflux, it's used for 4 to 12 weeks. For diabetic gastroparesis, it's generally used for 2 to 8 weeks. It is not recommended for children due to serious safety concerns.
