A review of adverse event reports in Poland identified cases of excessive sedation, myoclonus, hypotension, and hallucinations when rhodiola was taken with haloperidol, diazepam, or alprazolam.

Propoxyphene is an opioid pain reliever, so it already tends to slow you down, causing drowsiness, dizziness, and slower breathing. Rhodiola is mostly thought of as an energizing herb, but our records flag a possible overlap with medicines that calm the central nervous system, which is the group propoxyphene belongs to. The concern is that pairing them might add to that sedating effect, leaving you more groggy, lightheaded, or unsteady than usual.

I want to be honest about how thin the evidence is here. This is mostly theoretical, based on a few scattered case reports involving other sedatives, not propoxyphene itself. Still, since this is an opioid, it is worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before combining the two.

This three-ingredient combination — butalbital, acetaminophen, and caffeine — is used to relieve the symptoms of tension headache (also called muscle contraction headache). All supported products, including tablets, capsules, and oral solution, share this same approved use.

It is worth knowing that evidence for using this combination to treat repeated, frequent tension headaches over time is limited. Because butalbital can be habit-forming, extended or repeated use is not recommended.
