Zafirlukast falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2C9 (CYP2C9) SUBSTRATES — the group Schisandra interacts with.

Theoretically, schisandra might decrease the levels and clinical effects of CYP2C9 substrates.
In vitro and animal research suggests that schisandra induces CYP2C9 enzymes. This effect has not been reported in humans.

Here's the gist for Zafirlukast (Accolate). Your body uses a liver enzyme called CYP2C9 to clear this medicine. Lab and animal studies hint that schisandra may speed up that enzyme, which could move zafirlukast out of your system a little faster. Since zafirlukast is active as-is (not a prodrug that needs switching on), faster clearance would mean less drug working, and possibly weaker asthma control.

In plain terms, you might notice your asthma isn't as well managed (more wheezing, coughing, or tightness). I want to be honest though: this has only been seen in test tubes and animals, never proven in people, so it may not matter much. Still, if you use schisandra regularly, mention it to your pharmacist or doctor before changing anything.
