Schisandra + Meloxicam
Meloxicam brand names: Mobic, Vivlodex, Qmiiz ODT, Anjeso.
Schisandra has a moderate interaction with Meloxicam. Theoretically, schisandra might decrease the levels and clinical effects of CYP2C9 substrates.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CYTOCHROME P450 2C9 (CYP2C9) SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Meloxicam
Meloxicam falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2C9 (CYP2C9) SUBSTRATES — the group Schisandra interacts with.
In vitro and animal research suggests that schisandra induces CYP2C9 enzymes. This effect has not been reported in humans.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist for Meloxicam: your liver uses an enzyme called CYP2C9 to break this drug down. Lab and animal studies hint that schisandra may speed up that enzyme, which in theory could clear meloxicam from your body a little faster. If that happened, you might notice your usual dose not controlling arthritis pain, stiffness, or swelling as well as it normally does.
The important part: this effect has only been seen in test tubes and animals, never confirmed in people, so the real-world risk is uncertain and probably small. Meloxicam is not a prodrug, so we're talking about reduced relief, not extra side effects. Still, if you're considering schisandra, run it by your pharmacist or doctor first.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Meloxicam page
“Most people take meloxicam (Mobic) daily for arthritis pain, which gives supplement interactions time to add up, so I read this list with real vigilance. Five of the 113 ingredients on file carry a major rating, and two are simply beer and wine, because alcohol plus any NSAID raises the odds of stomach bleeding.”

About Schisandra
What is Schisandra?
- Fatigue and low energy
- Stress and adaptogen support
- Liver health
- Mental focus and performance
- Menopause symptoms
- Respiratory complaints
Schisandra is a traditional Chinese medicine berry used as an adaptogen for stress, fatigue, and liver support. Human evidence is limited and most claims are not well proven, but it appears reasonably well tolerated by most healthy adults when used short term. Pregnant and breastfeeding people should avoid it, and anyone with a health condition should check with a pharmacist or doctor first.

Meloxicam Is Linked to Lower Levels of One Nutrient
Natural Medicines records Meloxicam as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Schisandra — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
