Animal research suggests that (-)-carvone, a major constituent of spearmint, has sedative effects. However, in humans, chewing spearmint-flavored gum induced arousal effects.

Seglentis combines celecoxib (an anti-inflammatory) with tramadol, and it's the tramadol part that matters here. Tramadol works on your central nervous system and can make you drowsy, dizzy, or lightheaded. The concern with spearmint is purely theoretical: one of its compounds, carvone, made animals sleepy in lab studies. So in theory, spearmint might add to tramadol's calming effects.

Honestly, I wouldn't lose sleep over this. The human evidence is weak, and chewing spearmint gum actually made people feel more alert, not less. Food and tea amounts are very unlikely to cause trouble. If you're using a concentrated spearmint supplement and notice extra grogginess, check in with your pharmacist or doctor.
