Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
HEPATOTOXIC DRUGS
Why this applies to danicopan
danicopan falls under HEPATOTOXIC DRUGS — the group Spearmint interacts with.
Animal research suggests that drinking spearmint tea for 30 days can increase markers of liver damage, including aspartate aminotransferase (AST) and alanine aminotransferase (ALT), and cause liver degeneration and necrosis, in a dose-dependent manner. This effect has not been reported in humans.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the situation with danicopan (Voydeya) and spearmint. Danicopan is a medicine that can put some stress on the liver, so your care team likely checks your liver blood tests (like AST and ALT) while you take it. The concern here isn't about spearmint changing how danicopan is broken down. It's simply that piling two things that may strain the liver on top of each other could, in theory, add up.
I want to be honest about the strength of this: it's theoretical, and the liver worries come mostly from animals given lots of spearmint tea for a month. This hasn't been reported in people. A little spearmint in food or an occasional cup of tea is very unlikely to matter. Concentrated spearmint supplements are the real question mark, so run those by your pharmacist or doctor before starting.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the danicopan page
“Anyone on danicopan (Voydeya) for paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria is protecting fragile red blood cells with a pill that also asks a lot of the liver, so I read this list of 89 supplements as one to approach carefully, starting with the five rated major. Two patterns explain most of it: 38 ingredients can add strain to the liver, a…”
