Why this applies to Naproxen, Sumatriptan

Naproxen, Sumatriptan falls under CYTOCHROME P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) SUBSTRATES — the group Sulforaphane interacts with.

Theoretically, sulforaphane might alter the levels and clinical effects of CYP1A2 substrates.
Animal and in vitro research shows that sulforaphane inhibits CYP1A2 enzyme activity. However, its precursor glucoraphanin also appears to increase the expression of the CYP1A2 enzyme, which could lead to increased metabolism of CYP1A2 substrates. These effects have not been reported in humans.

Treximet combines two active medicines, naproxen (an anti-inflammatory pain reliever) and sumatriptan (a migraine medicine). The piece that touches this interaction is sumatriptan, which the liver partly handles using an enzyme called CYP1A2. Neither drug is a prodrug, so they are already active when you take them.

Here is the honest picture: in lab dishes and animals, sulforaphane can slow CYP1A2, which could let sumatriptan linger a little longer and possibly nudge up side effects like flushing, tingling, dizziness, or chest tightness. But a related broccoli compound seems to speed the same enzyme, so the two effects may cancel out. None of this has been shown in people. Broccoli on your plate is no concern. If you take concentrated sulforaphane pills, just mention it to your pharmacist.
