Naproxen, Sumatriptan falls under SEROTONERGIC DRUGS — the group Lithium interacts with.

Theoretically, taking lithium supplements with serotonergic drugs might both mask and increase the risk of serotonin syndrome.
In a case report, a 67-year-old female with depression and bipolar disorder using lithium in combination with selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) and other medications developed serotonin syndrome with symptoms of deep tendon hyperreflexia, muscle rigidity, tremor, and hyperthermia. However, agitation, one classical symptom of serotonin syndrome, was lacking. This was thought to be due to masking by lithium toxicity. Lithium can increase serotonin levels, thus, combining serotonergic drugs with lithium might increase the risk of serotonergic side effects including serotonin syndrome and cerebral vasoconstrictive disorders. It is unclear if this interaction would occur with the smaller doses found in lithium supplements.

Treximet combines naproxen (an anti-inflammatory) with sumatriptan, a triptan that works on serotonin pathways to stop migraines. Because sumatriptan nudges serotonin activity, pairing it with lithium could, in theory, stack up too much serotonin signaling. That raises the worry for serotonin syndrome, which can show up as shakiness, muscle twitching or stiffness, a racing heart, sweating, fever, or confusion.

Here's the honest part: this concern is mostly theoretical and based on how these drugs work, not on solid studies, and it's unclear whether the low doses in lithium supplements matter at all. One tricky point is that lithium can sometimes mask the usual agitation, making problems harder to spot. Please don't change anything on your own. Just check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

Theoretically, taking lithium supplements with NSAIDs might increase lithium levels and adverse effects.
NSAIDs can decrease the renal clearance of lithium and increase lithium levels. It is unclear if this interaction would be clinically significant with the smaller doses found in lithium supplements.

Treximet is a combination pill that pairs naproxen (an NSAID) with sumatriptan for migraines. The naproxen part is what matters here. NSAIDs like naproxen can make your kidneys hold on to lithium instead of clearing it out, so lithium can slowly build up in your body. Higher lithium levels can mean things like nausea, hand tremor, increased thirst, feeling unsteady, or confusion.

Keep in mind this is a theoretical concern based on how these drugs behave, not strong proof, and the small amounts in lithium supplements may not matter much. Still, lithium has a narrow safety window, so before combining the two it is worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor.
