Here's the gist with this combination. Methyldopa is one of those blood pressure medicines that, on rare occasions, can irritate the liver and even cause a form of hepatitis. Sweet Annie (Artemisia annua) has also raised some concern about being hard on the liver. Put the two together and the worry is simply that the liver stress could add up.

I want to be honest, though: this is a theoretical concern based on weak, anecdotal reports, not solid proof. Signs to watch for would be yellowing of the skin or eyes, dark urine, unusual tiredness, or pain in the upper right belly. I wouldn't change anything on your own. Just loop in your pharmacist or doctor before adding Sweet Annie, and they may simply keep an eye on your liver labs.
