Sorafenib falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Sweet Clover interacts with.

Theoretically, fresh sweet clover might increase the risk of bleeding when used with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs.
Fresh sweet clover contains coumarinic acids, which are converted to free coumarins during drying. Dicoumarol, which has anticoagulant activity, also has been found in some sweet clover preparations and can be formed if fresh sweet clover is allowed to spoil.

Here's the thing to keep in mind with sorafenib (Nexavar). On its own, this cancer medicine can already lower your platelets and raise your risk of bleeding and bruising. Sweet clover enters the picture because, especially if the plant has spoiled or fermented, it can contain dicoumarol, a natural blood thinner. Stack a blood-thinning herb on top of a drug that already nudges bleeding risk, and you could see more bruising, nosebleeds, bleeding gums, or harder-to-stop cuts.

I'll be honest, this warning is theoretical and based on how the chemistry works, not on solid human studies, so don't panic. Still, since you're on serious cancer therapy, please loop in your oncologist or pharmacist before adding sweet clover.

About Sorafenib

What Is Sorafenib Used For?

Brand name: Nexavar

Sorafenib tablets are approved to treat three types of cancer. The first is unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) — liver cancer that cannot be removed with surgery. The second is advanced renal cell carcinoma (RCC) — kidney cancer that has spread or progressed. Both the brand Nexavar and generic sorafenib tablets are approved for these two uses.

The third use is for locally recurrent or metastatic, progressive differentiated thyroid carcinoma (DTC) — thyroid cancer that has spread or worsened and no longer responds to radioactive iodine treatment. Nexavar and sorafenib tablets are both approved for this use as well.
