Tirofiban falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Terminalia interacts with.

Theoretically, concomitant use of Terminalia arjuna with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs may increase the risk of bleeding in some patients.
In vitro, Terminalia arjuna bark extract inhibits platelet aggregation, decreases platelet activation, and shows antithrombotic properties.

Here's the thing to keep in mind: Tirofiban (Aggrastat) is a potent IV antiplatelet drug given in the hospital, usually during heart procedures or for certain heart attacks. Its whole job is to stop platelets from clumping together, which lowers clotting but also raises bleeding risk on its own.

Lab studies suggest Terminalia arjuna may also reduce platelet activity. So in theory, pairing the two could nudge your bleeding risk higher (think easier bruising, nosebleeds, or bleeding that's harder to stop). I want to be honest though: this is only based on test-tube research, not real patient data, so it's a caution and not a proven problem. Since Tirofiban is given under close hospital monitoring, always tell your care team about any supplements you take.

What Is Tirofiban Used For?

Brand name: Aggrastat

Tirofiban hydrochloride injection — available as Aggrastat and under the generic names Tirofiban and Tirofiban Hydrochloride — is used intravenously in people with non-ST elevation acute coronary syndrome (NSTE-ACS), a type of unstable heart condition where blood flow to the heart is dangerously reduced.

The goal is to lower the combined risk of death, heart attack (myocardial infarction), or persistent ischemia (insufficient blood flow to the heart) that may require a repeat cardiac procedure.
