Amphetamine falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES — the group Terminalia interacts with.

Theoretically, use of Terminalia arjuna may increase the levels and clinical effects of CYP2D6 substrates.
In vitro research shows that Terminalia arjuna extract inhibits CYP2D6 enzymes and reduces CYP2D6 substrate metabolism.

Here's the gist for amphetamine. Part of how your body clears amphetamine runs through a liver enzyme called CYP2D6. Lab studies (done in test tubes, not in people) suggest that Terminalia arjuna may slow that enzyme down. In theory, that could let a bit more amphetamine linger in your system, which might mean stronger or longer-lasting effects.

For you, that could look like a faster heartbeat, higher blood pressure, jitteriness, trouble sleeping, or feeling on edge. To be clear, this is a theoretical concern based only on lab work, so we don't know how big a deal it really is in real life. Still, since amphetamine already affects your heart and nerves, I'd run this combo by your pharmacist or doctor before mixing the two.

What Is Amphetamine Used For?

Brand names: Dyanavel XR, Adensys XR-ODT, Mydayis, Adzenys ER

Amphetamine treats Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in patients 6 years and older. Adzenys XR-ODT, Dyanavel XR, and the amphetamine extended-release orally disintegrating tablet formulations are specifically approved for ADHD in this age group.

Amphetamine Sulfate tablets and Evekeo (amphetamine sulfate tablets) are also approved for narcolepsy (a sleep disorder causing uncontrollable daytime sleepiness) and as a short-term aid in a calorie-restricted weight-loss program for exogenous obesity (weight gain from external factors like overeating) in patients who have not responded to other approaches.
