Acetaminophen, Butalbital, Codeine Phosphate falls under SEIZURE THRESHOLD LOWERING DRUGS — the group Thuja interacts with.

Thuja products can contains significant amounts of thujone, a neurotoxin. Theoretically, patients taking drugs that lower the seizure threshold might be at greater risk of seizure if they also take thuja. Advise patients taking these drugs to avoid thuja products. Some drugs that lower the seizure threshold include anesthetics (propofol, others), antiarrhythmics (mexiletine), antibiotics (amphotericin, penicillin, cephalosporins, imipenem), antidepressants (bupropion, others), antihistamines (cyproheptadine, others), immunosuppressants (cyclosporine), narcotics (fentanyl, others), stimulants (methylphenidate), theophylline, and others.

Here's the simple version. Thuja contains a compound called thujone, which in concentrated amounts can irritate the nervous system and, in theory, make seizures more likely. The codeine portion of your Phrenilin with codeine is a narcotic, and narcotics are one of the medication groups that can slightly lower the threshold for a seizure. So stacking thuja on top could, at least on paper, nudge that risk a bit higher.

I want to be honest about the evidence here: this is mostly theoretical and based on anecdotal reports, not strong studies, so I'm not trying to scare you. Still, because thuja oil can be genuinely toxic, I'd skip concentrated thuja supplements while you're on this medication. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding it.
