Hydrocodone, Pseudoephedrine falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Thunder God Vine interacts with.

Theoretically, thunder god vine might increase the levels and clinical effects of CYP3A4 substrates.
In vitro research shows that triptolide, a constituent of thunder god vine, inhibits CYP3A4 enzymes in human microsomes. This interaction has not been reported in humans.

Here's the gist with your cough and cold combo, P-V-Tussin or Rezira, which pairs hydrocodone (an opioid) with pseudoephedrine (a decongestant). Lab studies suggest a compound in Thunder God Vine called triptolide can slow down CYP3A4, one of the liver enzymes that helps clear hydrocodone. In theory, that could let hydrocodone build up a bit and hit harder.

If that happened, you might notice more drowsiness, dizziness, constipation, or slowed breathing. I want to be honest, though: this is only a theoretical, test-tube finding and hasn't actually been seen in people. Still, since both this herb and this medicine carry real risks, please check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them rather than guessing.
