Theoretically, thunder god vine might increase the levels and clinical effects of CYP1A2 substrates.
In vitro research shows that triptolide, a constituent of thunder god vine, inhibits CYP1A2 enzymes in human microsomes. This interaction has not been reported in humans.

Here's the basic idea with these two together. Ramelteon (Rozerem) is cleared from your body largely by a liver enzyme called CYP1A2. Thunder God Vine contains a compound, triptolide, that may slow that same enzyme down. If the enzyme works more slowly, ramelteon could build up a bit higher than usual, which might make its sleepy effects stronger. Think next-morning grogginess, dizziness, or feeling more out of it than expected.

I want to be honest about how soft this is, though. This concern comes only from lab (test tube) studies, and it has never actually been reported in people. So it's theoretical, not something we've seen play out. Still, since Thunder God Vine itself can be toxic if dosed wrong, please loop in your doctor or pharmacist before combining them.

Here's the short version for Rozerem (ramelteon): your body relies on a liver enzyme called CYP3A4 to break this sleep aid down. Lab research suggests one of the active compounds in Thunder God Vine, triptolide, may slow that same enzyme. If it does, ramelteon could clear out more slowly and build up a bit, which might make its effects stronger than expected.

In real terms, that could mean feeling extra drowsy, groggy, or dizzy the next morning. I'll be honest though: this is only a theoretical concern based on test-tube studies, and it hasn't actually been reported in people. Still, since Thunder God Vine itself can be risky, please loop in your doctor or pharmacist before combining the two.
