Bupivacaine, Meloxicam falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2C9 (CYP2C9) SUBSTRATES — the group Tree Turmeric interacts with.

Theoretically, tree turmeric might increase the levels and clinical effects of drugs metabolized by CYP2C9.
Preliminary clinical evidence suggests that berberine, a constituent of tree turmeric, can inhibit CYP2C9.

This Zynrelef kit pairs meloxicam (an anti-inflammatory) with bupivacaine (a numbing medicine) right at a surgical site. The meloxicam part is cleared partly by a liver enzyme called CYP2C9. Berberine in tree turmeric appears to slow that enzyme down, so in theory meloxicam could linger a bit longer in your body and its effects build up.

If that happened, you might notice more typical NSAID issues like stomach upset, heartburn, fluid retention, or a small bump in blood pressure. Honestly though, this is mostly theoretical and based on early, lower-quality research, and a Zynrelef kit is a one-time surgical product, so the window of overlap is short. Still, it's worth mentioning your tree turmeric or berberine to your surgical team or pharmacist beforehand.
