Here's the gist with Qsymia (phentermine plus topiramate) and tree turmeric. The berberine in tree turmeric has shown mild sedative or calming effects, but only in animal studies so far. There's no solid human proof, so I'd file this under 'possible in theory' rather than something that's been clearly seen in people.

The concern is simple addition. Topiramate already tends to cause drowsiness, foggy thinking, dizziness, and slowed reactions, so layering a sedating supplement on top could, in theory, leave you feeling a bit more groggy or lightheaded than usual. Phentermine is actually a stimulant, so it pushes the other way. This isn't a dangerous clash, but if you do try tree turmeric, please run it by your pharmacist or doctor first and notice how you feel.
