White Mulberry + Erythromycin Stearate
Erythromycin Stearate brand names: Erythro-S, Erythrocin, Ethril.
We found no known interaction between White Mulberry and Erythromycin Stearate in our sources. Absence of a documented interaction is not the same as proven safety, and does not guarantee one does not exist. Do not start, stop, or change a medication or supplement based on this page; confirm with your pharmacist or doctor first. Additionally, although there is no interaction, the two are separately associated with some of the same side effects, which would make a new symptom harder to attribute to one or the other.
White Mulberry and Erythromycin Stearate
We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.
No Known Interaction Found
We did not find a documented interaction between Erythromycin Stearate and White Mulberry in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — there is often limited research on supplements and herbal products, especially around drug interactions.
If you decide to take both, the practical routine is simple: add one new thing at a time and note the date you started it. If the combination is going to disagree with you, it usually shows in the first days to a couple of weeks — and a start date turns “I’ve been feeling off” into something a pharmacist can actually work with. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.
Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.
White Mulberry safety at a glance
Safety guidance is general; always confirm with your pharmacist or doctor for your situation.
White mulberry is not known to have many clinically significant drug interactions.
While our drug-herb interaction checker does list potential interactions with antidiabetic drugs and drugs that are affected by a protein known as OCT2, it is generally thought these are clinically insignificant for most individuals as they are theoretical and have not been seen in humans.
Nevertheless, it is important to be cautious if you take any drug that our tool shows an interaction for.
Why No Interaction Is Listed for Erythromycin Stearate
Interactions in our licensed database are recorded against drug classes, not just single drug names. Erythromycin Stearate is filed under 9 classifications — including macrolide antibiotics, cytochrome p450 1a2 (cyp1a2) inhibitors, qt interval-prolonging drugs. White Mulberry has documented interactions with 2 drug classes — the most serious being antidiabetes drugs (moderate) and organic cation transporter 2 (oct2) substrates (moderate) — and none of Erythromycin Stearate’s classifications are among them.
Classification data comes from our licensed Natural Medicines dataset. A medication can belong to classes beyond those recorded there, so this describes how the check was run — it is not a safety guarantee.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Erythromycin Stearate page
“Erythromycin stearate (Erythrocin, Ethril) is an antibiotic that asks for real vigilance around supplements. It blocks the body's main drug-clearing enzyme, so the largest share of this list is herbs whose blood levels can climb while you take it.”

About White Mulberry
What is White Mulberry?
- Blood sugar support
- High cholesterol
- Weight management
- Antioxidant support
- High blood pressure (traditional use)
White mulberry leaf is most studied for helping blunt the rise in blood sugar after meals, but the human evidence is limited and not strong. It is generally well tolerated as a food and tea, but talk to your pharmacist or doctor before using concentrated supplements, especially if you take diabetes medicine.
Morus alba · Moraceae · Leaves, fruit (berries), root bark, and twigs · Capsules, tablets, leaf tea, powdered leaf extract, dried fruit, liquid extracts
An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether White Mulberry is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our White Mulberry record says about it on its own.
White Mulberry: dosing
There is no officially established standard dose for white mulberry supplements. Doses used in studies have varied widely depending on the plant part and extract, and there is not enough consistent research to recommend a specific milligram amount. If you choose to use it, follow the directions on the product label and do not exceed the suggested amount.

About Erythromycin
What Is Erythromycin Used For?
Brand names: Erythro-S, Erythrocin, Ethril
Erythromycin treats bacterial infections caused by susceptible organisms. Oral and intravenous forms are used for upper and lower respiratory tract infections, skin and soft-tissue infections, pertussis (whooping cough), Legionnaires' disease, sexually transmitted infections (gonorrhea, syphilis, chlamydia), listeriosis, and other conditions. Erythrocin Lactobionate IV and erythromycin lactobionate injection are specifically for patients who cannot take oral medication or who need rapid, high blood levels due to severe infection — IV therapy should be switched to oral as soon as appropriate.
Erythromycin topical solution 2% and Ery 2% Pads (swabs) are indicated only for the topical treatment of acne vulgaris (acne) and are applied directly to the skin — they are not used for internal infections.
