Dr. Brian Staiger, PharmD, BCPS
Dr. Brian Staiger explains PharmD, Clinical Pharmacist

Quviviq (daridorexant) is a sleep medicine that calms the brain's wake signals, so its main effects are drowsiness, grogginess, and feeling out of it the next morning. Yerba mansa hasn't been shown to clear or activate this drug differently, so this isn't about your body breaking it down. The concern is simpler: both can have a calming, sedating quality, and stacking them might add up to more sleepiness than you bargained for.

I want to be honest that this is a theoretical caution based on how these things work, not proven harm in people. Still, if you notice extra grogginess, dizziness, or trouble waking up, that's worth a chat with your pharmacist or doctor before mixing the two.

“Daridorexant (Quviviq) quiets the brain's wake signals to treat insomnia, so supplements that add drowsiness or change how the liver clears it deserve real caution here. Of the 195 ingredients with a documented interaction, 9 rate major, and those are the ones to understand first.”
