That's how it eases pain, but it also brings the usual opioid effects like drowsiness, slowed breathing, foggy thinking, and feeling unsteady on your feet. The concern with yerba mansa is that it may add a little extra sedation on top, so the two together could leave you sleepier or more sluggish than you'd expect.

I want to be honest about how solid this is: this warning is theoretical, based on how the plant might behave, not on real cases in people. So it's a reason to be thoughtful, not alarmed.
