Artichoke (Globe) Max-V contains 2 active ingredients, both artichoke in different forms: Globe Artichoke Herbal Extract and Artichoke. These work the same way in your body.
The product also contains cellulose and vegetable stearate as inactive ingredients—the cellulose is a filler and binder, and the vegetable stearate helps hold the capsule together.

Moderate evidence
The evidence for artichoke is modest but real for a couple of uses. It's rated possibly effective for high cholesterol (hyperlipidemia) and for indigestion and digestive upset (dyspepsia).
For fatty liver disease (nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, or NAFLD), the evidence isn't established yet—we don't have enough reliable data to rate it either way.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Artichoke is generally well tolerated as a food and short-term supplement, though quality and dosing vary between products. The most common side effects from taking it by mouth are belly pain, diarrhea, gas, hunger, and nausea.
A small number of people may have an allergic reaction, especially those sensitive to the daisy family of plants (ragweed, chrysanthemums, marigolds, daisies, and similar herbs). Rarely, people sensitive to inulin—a fiber in artichoke—have had severe allergic reactions (anaphylaxis).
There isn't enough safety data to use this product during pregnancy or breastfeeding, so it's best avoided in those situations.

The most serious concern is with blood pressure–lowering drugs (antihypertensives). Artichoke may increase the risk of low blood pressure when combined with these medications.
A meta-analysis shows artichoke can lower both systolic and diastolic blood pressure by a few points on its own, so adding it to a blood pressure drug could push levels too low.

Artichoke also interacts with diabetes medications (antidiabetes drugs) in a similar way—it may lower your blood sugar further and raise the risk of dangerously low blood sugar (hypoglycemia). Studies show it can modestly reduce fasting blood sugar on its own over 8–12 weeks.
Two other drug groups are affected at Moderate severity: certain medications your liver breaks down using the CYP2C19 enzyme, and those using the CYP2B6 enzyme. In laboratory tests, artichoke inhibits both of these enzymes, which theoretically could raise drug levels in your blood—but this hasn't been confirmed in humans yet.

Globe Artichoke Herbal Extract
Antidiabetes Drugs
Theoretically, artichoke leaf extract may increase the risk of hypoglycemia when taken with antidiabetes drugs.
A meta-analysis of small clinical studies shows that taking artichoke leaf extract for 8-12 weeks can modestly reduce fasting plasma glucose when compared with placebo.
Antihypertensive Drugs
Theoretically, artichoke leaf extract may increase the risk of hypotension when taken with antihypertensive drugs.
A meta-analysis of small clinical studies in patients with hypertension shows that taking artichoke can reduce systolic blood pressure by around 3 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure by around 2 mmHg when compared with placebo.
Cytochrome P450 2B6 (Cyp2B6) Substrates
Theoretically, artichoke might increase serum levels of drugs metabolized by CYP2B6.
In vitro research shows that artichoke leaf extract inhibits CYP2B6 activity. However, this interaction has not been reported in humans.
