CLA Ingredients & Drug Interactions
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking CLA against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

HelloPharmacist Scorecard of CLA by TLS Weight Loss Solution
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains three active ingredients. Chromium is a mineral that plays a role in blood sugar control.
Polyunsaturated fat and conjugated linoleic acid are fatty acids included for their potential metabolic effects. The remaining ingredients are inactive — gelatin (the capsule), soybean oil, glycerin, purified water, soy lecithin, beeswax, silica, annatto extract for color, and natural lemon flavor.
Does it work?
Not established
Chromium is rated likely effective for chromium deficiency, but that's not what most people take a weight-loss supplement for. For diabetes and blood sugar control, the evidence is mixed — it's rated possibly effective for diabetes but possibly ineffective for prediabetes.
We don't hold established effectiveness ratings in our data for polyunsaturated fat or conjugated linoleic acid in this product.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Chromium is generally well tolerated at typical supplement doses. The most common side effects are gastrointestinal irritation, headaches, insomnia, irritability, and mood changes.
Rare serious effects — kidney or liver damage and blood cell problems — have been reported, mostly at higher or long-term doses. Skin rashes and itching have also occurred in some people, especially those with chromium contact allergy.
For pregnancy and breastfeeding, small amounts of chromium from food or prenatal vitamins are considered likely to possibly safe, but extra supplement doses should be avoided unless your doctor recommends them. The safety data on higher supplement doses is limited.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before taking TLS Weight Loss Solution, double-check your medications against these types: antidiabetes drugs and insulin (moderate risk of low blood sugar), levothyroxine or other thyroid hormone (moderate risk of reduced absorption), NSAIDs and aspirin (minor risk of increased chromium absorption). We could not check polyunsaturated fat or conjugated linoleic acid for interactions.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no established evidence rating for its marketed use. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
If you take insulin, diabetes medication, or thyroid hormone (levothyroxine), talk with your pharmacist or doctor before starting this product — chromium can affect how they work. If you take NSAIDs or aspirin regularly, be aware chromium may increase absorption.

CLA by TLS Weight Loss Solution Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
TLS Weight Loss Solution contains chromium, which interacts with several medication types.
The most serious concern is with antidiabetes drugs and insulin — chromium may add to their blood sugar-lowering effect and raise your risk of low blood sugar (hypoglycemia). If you take insulin or diabetes medication, your doctor may need to adjust your dose.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Chromium can also reduce how your body absorbs levothyroxine (Synthroid), a thyroid hormone replacement — research shows a 17% drop in blood levels when taken together. Take levothyroxine at least a few hours apart from this supplement.
NSAIDs like ibuprofen and aspirin are rated Minor interactions; they may increase how much chromium your body absorbs and retains.
The other two active ingredients — polyunsaturated fat and conjugated linoleic acid — we could not check for interactions, so we hold no interaction data for them. Run your exact medications through the interaction checker on this page before you start.

For each ingredient in CLA with known interactions, here are the types of medications it can affect. Open any type for the detail — or search your exact drug in the checker above.
Chromium
Antidiabetes Drugs
Theoretically, chromium may have additive effects with antidiabetic agents and increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
Some research shows that taking chromium might lower blood glucose levels, especially in patients with poorly controlled type 2 diabetes.
Insulin
Theoretically, concomitant use of chromium and insulin might increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
In clinical research, chromium has been shown to increase insulin sensitivity,
Levothyroxine (Synthroid, Others)
Chromium might bind levothyroxine in the intestinal tract and decrease levothyroxine absorption.
Clinical research in healthy volunteers shows that taking chromium picolinate 1000 mcg with levothyroxine 1 mg decreases serum levels of levothyroxine by 17% when compared to taking levothyroxine alone. Advise patients to take levothyroxine at least 30 minutes before or 3-4 hours after taking chromium.
Aspirin
Theoretically, aspirin might increase chromium absorption.
Animal research suggests that aspirin may increase chromium absorption and chromium levels in the blood.
Nonsteroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (Nsaids)
NSAIDs might increase chromium levels in the body.
Drugs that are prostaglandin inhibitors, such as NSAIDs, seem to increase chromium absorption and retention.
