Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Full disclosure
This product contains one active ingredient: Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) at 100 mg per softgel. CoQ10 is a compound your body makes naturally and stores in cells to help produce energy and protect against oxidative damage.
The softgel also contains inactive ingredients—soybean oil, gelatin, glycerin, water, and soy lecithin—that serve as the capsule and delivery system.
Does it work?
Strong evidence
CoQ10 is likely effective for CoQ10 deficiency itself. For other uses, the evidence is mixed: it's rated possibly effective for fibromyalgia, migraine headache, congestive heart failure, and diabetic neuropathy based on the research we hold.
That means some studies show benefit, but the evidence isn't yet strong enough to be certain. Talk with your doctor about whether this dose and form is right for what you're hoping to treat.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
CoQ10 is generally well tolerated when taken as directed. In clinical trials, no serious adverse effects were reported.
Gastrointestinal side effects like stomach upset, heartburn, nausea, or diarrhea happen in less than 1% of people—and doses above 100 mg may be easier on your stomach if split throughout the day. A small number of people have reported headache, dizziness, or insomnia; skin itching and rashes have also been reported rarely.
There is not enough reliable safety data during pregnancy, so it's best to avoid unless your doctor advises otherwise. Safety while breastfeeding hasn't been well studied; check with your doctor or pharmacist for personalized guidance.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before you take this, check with your pharmacist if you're on warfarin or any blood thinner—CoQ10 may reduce how well it works. Also double-check if you're undergoing chemotherapy, especially with drugs like cyclophosphamide.
If you take blood pressure medication, let your doctor know you're considering CoQ10, since it might add to the effect.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with clinical evidence supporting its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
CoQ10 is a good choice if your doctor has told you that you're deficient, or if you're exploring it for heart health, migraines, or nerve pain under professional guidance. If you take warfarin or chemotherapy, skip this product without a doctor's clear approval.
Run your medications through the checker on this page to make sure CoQ10 won't interfere.

CoQ10 100 mg by Nature Made Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Nature Made CoQ10 100 mg does interact with some medications, so you'll want to check your exact prescriptions before starting.
The most serious concern is warfarin (a blood thinner)—CoQ10 may work against it and reduce how well it prevents clots. Four cases of decreased warfarin effectiveness tied to CoQ10 have been reported, so if you take warfarin, this product isn't a good fit without your doctor's sign-off.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
CoQ10 may also interfere with chemotherapy drugs like cyclophosphamide that rely on free radicals to work—theoretically, CoQ10's antioxidant effect could blunt their activity. On the milder side, it might add to the blood-pressure-lowering effects of antihypertensive drugs, which could be helpful for some but risky for others.
Altogether, these interactions span 198 individual medications. Use the medication checker below to verify your specific drugs before you take this supplement.

For each ingredient in CoQ10 100 mg with known interactions, here are the types of medications it can affect. Open any type for the detail — or search your exact drug in the checker above.
Coenzyme Q10
Alkylating Agents
Coenzyme Q10 has antioxidant effects. Theoretically, this may reduce the activity of chemotherapy drugs that generate free radicals.
Theoretically, antioxidants such as coenzyme Q10 might protect tumor cells from chemotherapeutic agents that work by inducing oxidative stress, such as alkylating agents (e.g., cyclophosphamide) and radiation therapy. The clinical importance of this interaction is unknown.
Warfarin (Coumadin)
Coenzyme Q10 is chemically similar to menaquinone and might have vitamin K-like procoagulant effects, which could decrease the effects of warfarin.
Concomitant use of coenzyme Q10 and warfarin might reduce the anticoagulant effects of warfarin. Four cases of decreased warfarin efficacy thought to be due to coenzyme Q10 have been reported. However, there is some preliminary clinical research that suggests coenzyme Q10 might not significantly decrease the effects of warfarin in patients who have a stable INR.
Antihypertensive Drugs
Theoretically, coenzyme Q10 might have additive effects with antihypertensive drugs.
Some clinical research shows that coenzyme Q10 can significantly lower blood pressure, although other studies have shown conflicting results.
