Every active ingredient lists its own amount on the label.

Why this rating?
  • The label discloses an exact amount for 1 of its 1 active ingredient.
  • No proprietary blends here — you can verify the dose of every single component.

This product contains one active ingredient: hemp extract from the hemp plant. The liquid also contains organic hemp seed oil as an inactive ingredient (a carrier oil for the extract).

Hemp extract is the whole plant material in concentrated form, so it carries multiple compounds from the hemp plant — not just one isolated molecule.

Couldn't assess
Evidence for Intended Use · database check
By FDA rules, dietary supplements can’t claim to treat, cure, or prevent disease — so labels speak in careful marketing language. We discern each product’s intended use from its name, label claims, and label statements, then grade the clinical evidence for that use. How these ratings are computed
Not assessable

This is a single-ingredient Hemp product and its label doesn't state a use — see Hemp's own graded uses on its monograph.

Why this rating?
  • We looked at the product name, claims, and label statements and couldn't find a stated purpose to grade.

The evidence we hold doesn't establish that hemp extract works for constipation, eczema (atopic dermatitis), or high cholesterol (familial hypercholesterolemia). For these uses, there isn't reliable evidence to rate it yet.

If you're thinking about this product for a specific health goal, ask your doctor or pharmacist what the current research actually shows.

How safe is it?

Well-documented data
Safety Information · database check
Well characterized

Adverse-effect, pregnancy, and general safety data are on file for most of these ingredients.

Why this rating?
  • We hold adverse-effect (side-effect) data for 1 of the 1 matched ingredient.
  • Pregnancy & breastfeeding safety ratings cover 1 of 1.
  • General safety write-ups exist for 1 of 1.
  • Remember: this measures how much safety information exists. Thin data is not the same as being safe.

Hemp seed foods in normal amounts are generally well tolerated. However, concentrated hemp extracts like this one are much less studied, so caution is advised.

In food amounts, hemp seed oil appears safe, but the safety of supplements and extracts isn't well established. Rare serious side effects have been reported with hemp products: anaphylaxis (a severe allergic reaction), heart rhythm problems (long QT syndrome and torsades de pointes), and fainting.

Allergic reactions — including hives, facial swelling, and breathing problems — can occur, though they're uncommon. There's also a case report of liver inflammation in a young child given high-dose hemp extract for seizures.

Because concentrated extracts are less studied, talk with your doctor or pharmacist about whether this product is right for you.

Moderate identified

The most serious documented interaction for these ingredients is Moderate. Check your medications for a personalized result.

Why this rating?
  • 1 of the 1 matched ingredient can interact with medications — Hemp.
  • The most serious interaction on file is rated Moderate.
  • Some involve high-stakes drug classes: anticoagulant / antiplatelet drugs.
  • For scale: 939 individual medications appear in the full list. A big number alone doesn't make a product dangerous — what matters is whether YOUR medication is on it, so run yours through the interaction checker on this page.

If you take estrogen therapy (hormone replacement or birth control), blood thinners like warfarin or aspirin, ACE inhibitor blood pressure drugs, other blood pressure medications, or any drug your liver breaks down (check the search tool below for your medication), discuss this product with your doctor or pharmacist first. The interaction with estrogens is rated Moderate; the others are Minor, but they're still worth confirming before you start.

The bottom line

Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no assessable stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.

This hemp extract may interact with hormone therapy, blood thinners, blood pressure medications, and drugs your liver breaks down — affecting a wide range of prescriptions. If you take any of those, check with your doctor or pharmacist before starting.

Because concentrated hemp extracts are less studied than hemp foods, safety in the long term isn't fully clear, so caution is warranted. The evidence doesn't yet support its use for constipation, eczema, or cholesterol.

Estrogens

Theoretically, hemp might interfere with hormone therapy due to its estrogenic effects.
In an ovariectomized animal model, a diet containing hemp seed 1%, 2%, or 10% resulted in normalized plasma levels of 17-beta-estradiol. The mechanism of action for this effect is unclear.

Likelihood Possible Evidence D
Ace Inhibitors (Aceis)

Theoretically, consuming hemp seed protein isolate with ACE inhibitors might have additive effects and increase the risk of hypotension.
Hemp seed protein hydrolysate has shown ACE inhibitor-like effects in a hypertensive animal model. However, hempseed oil consumption does not seem to reduce blood pressure in humans. Until more is known, monitor blood pressure and potassium levels.

Likelihood Unlikely Evidence D
Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs

Theoretically, hemp seed might increase the risk of bleeding when used concomitantly with anticoagulant/antiplatelet drugs.
In animal research, hemp seed at 5% of the diet inhibits platelet aggregation in vitro. However, in human research, taking hemp seed oil 2 grams daily for 12 weeks does not inhibit the aggregation of platelets in vitro.

Likelihood Possible Evidence D
Antihypertensive Drugs

Theoretically, hemp seed protein may have additive effects with antihypertensive drugs.
In a hypertensive animal model, hemp seed protein hydrolysate reduced systolic blood pressure by a mechanism possibly involving the inhibition of renin and angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) activities. However, there was no effect of hemp seed protein on blood pressure in normotensive animals. Furthermore, hempseed oil consumption does not seem to reduce blood pressure in humans.

Likelihood Unlikely Evidence D
Cytochrome P450 1A2 (Cyp1A2) Substrates

Theoretically, hemp might decrease the levels and clinical effects of CYP1A2 substrates.
In vitro research shows that hemp induces CYP1A2 enzymes.

Likelihood Possible Evidence D
Cytochrome P450 3A4 (Cyp3A4) Substrates

Theoretically, hemp might decrease the levels and clinical effects of CYP3A4 substrates.
In vitro research shows that hemp induces CYP3A4 enzymes.

Full Spectrum CBD by Hemp Essentials: Common Questions

Does Full Spectrum CBD by Hemp Essentials interact with any medications?
Yes. Based on its ingredients, Full Spectrum CBD has a known interaction with 938 medications. Use the checker to see how it interacts with a specific drug.
How can one product interact with so many drugs?
Full Spectrum CBD contains a single active ingredient, and that one ingredient can interact with many different medications on its own. We check it against each medication and show the mechanism responsible.
Where does this information come from?
The product label data comes from the NIH Dietary Supplement Label Database (DSLD); the interaction data is built on the Natural Medicines database and reviewed by HelloPharmacist pharmacists.
Can I take this if I'm pregnant or breastfeeding?
We don't have safety data on file for hemp extract in pregnancy or lactation. Because concentrated extracts are less studied than hemp foods, talk with your doctor or pharmacist about whether it's right for you in these situations — they can weigh the limited evidence and your individual needs.
What are the chances of an allergic reaction?
Allergies to hemp seed are uncommon, but when they do occur, they can be serious — ranging from hives and facial swelling to breathing problems and anaphylaxis. If you've never had hemp products before, be aware of these possibilities. Seek medical attention right away if you notice any signs of an allergic reaction.
Is this safe to take long-term?
Concentrated hemp extracts like this one are less studied than hemp foods, so long-term safety data is limited. The safety notes advise caution with supplements and extracts specifically because we don't know as much about them. Talk with your doctor or pharmacist about your plans.
What's the difference between hemp extract and hemp seed oil?
Hemp extract is the concentrated plant material — it contains many compounds from the hemp plant. Hemp seed oil is just the oil pressed from hemp seeds and is used here as a carrier. This product's hemp extract is the active ingredient; the oil helps deliver it.
Does this product work for eczema or high cholesterol?
We don't have reliable evidence that it works for either one. The data shows insufficient evidence to rate hemp extract for eczema, constipation, or high cholesterol, so we can't say whether it actually helps. Ask your doctor about treatments with stronger evidence if you're dealing with these conditions.
