Glutamine Stack Ingredients & Drug Interactions
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Glutamine Stack against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
Glutamine Stack contains 3 active ingredients, all variations of the amino acid glutamine: L-Glutamine, L-Glutamine Ethyl Ester, and L-Glutamine Alpha Keto Glutarate. Glutamine is a building block your body uses for muscle repair, immune function, and gut health.
This powder has no inactive ingredients listed.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
The two glutamine forms we have data on—L-Glutamine and L-Glutamine Ethyl Ester—are rated Effective for sickle cell disease. They're rated Possibly Effective for HIV/AIDS-related wasting, recovery after surgery, and critical illness from trauma.
We don't hold effectiveness data for L-Glutamine Alpha Keto Glutarate.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
L-Glutamine and L-Glutamine Ethyl Ester are generally well tolerated in healthy adults. The most common side effects are digestive: belching, bloating, constipation, diarrhea, flatulence, and nausea.
High doses (10–30 grams daily) in clinical trials have also caused these GI symptoms, plus headache and, rarely, dizziness. A small number of people with bipolar disorder have reported mania or hypomania on glutamine, and it may have neurological effects in people with existing neurological conditions.
If you have kidney or liver disease, use only under medical supervision. During pregnancy and lactation, the data shows it's likely safe, but there isn't enough reliable safety information to be certain—talk with your doctor or pharmacist for personalized advice.
We don't have safety data on file for L-Glutamine Alpha Keto Glutarate.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
If you take anticonvulsant (seizure) medications, check your exact drugs with the search tool on this page. The Moderate interaction with anticonvulsants is the only documented concern we have for the ingredients we could check—though the risk is theoretical and unconfirmed in human cases, it's important to verify your specific medication before starting.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Glutamine Stack is designed to support muscle recovery and immune function and is well tolerated by most healthy people. If you take seizure medication, check your specific drugs before starting—the glutamine forms may theoretically interfere with them, though it hasn't happened in reported cases.
If you have kidney or liver disease, bipolar disorder, or a neurological condition, talk with your doctor or pharmacist before adding this.
