What’s inside
Full disclosure
Petadolex 75 contains one active ingredient: an extract of Petasites hybridus, the plant commonly called butterbur. The inactive ingredients are glycerol, gelatin, medium chain triglycerides, sorbitol, and coloring — these are fillers and capsule material that hold the extract together.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
Butterbur extract in Petadolex 75 is possibly effective for migraine headache and for allergic rhinitis (hay fever). That means some clinical evidence supports its use for these two conditions, though the data isn't conclusive.
If you're considering it for either of these, talk with your pharmacist or doctor about whether it fits your situation.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
Butterbur is generally well tolerated orally. The most common side effects are mild: belching, diarrhea, drowsiness, fatigue, headache, itchy eyes, itching, rash, and stomach upset.
A small number of people have reported abdominal pain, nausea, or pain in the joints and limbs. Serious liver damage (hepatotoxicity) is rare but has been tied to pyrrolizidine alkaloids — which is why Petadolex 75 is formulated as PA-free.
Even so, there have been rare reports of liver injury from supplements labeled PA-free, so this product isn't risk-free. During pregnancy, the safety data advises against butterbur — the rating is likely unsafe.
While breastfeeding, safety is unknown, so it's best to avoid it. If you're pregnant or breastfeeding and interested in butterbur for migraines or allergies, talk with your OB or pharmacist for personalized guidance.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
If you take any CYP3A4 inducers (drugs that speed up how your liver works), check with your pharmacist before adding Petadolex 75. These medications can theoretically increase how your body converts butterbur's alkaloids into toxic forms.
Use the search tool on this page to verify your exact drugs.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
Petadolex 75 may help with migraines or hay fever, and it's formulated without the most harmful alkaloid fraction. But if you take any medication — prescription or over-the-counter — check it against the interaction tool before you start.
Don't use it in pregnancy, and avoid it while breastfeeding unless your doctor or pharmacist tells you otherwise.

Petadolex 75 by Linpharma Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Petadolex 75 by Linpharma contains butterbur extract, which does interact with a specific class of medications.
The main concern is with CYP3A4 inducers — drugs that speed up how your liver processes certain substances. Butterbur contains pyrrolizidine alkaloids (PAs), which are broken down by the same liver enzyme.
If you take a CYP3A4 inducer, it might increase the conversion of these alkaloids to toxic forms, theoretically raising the risk of liver damage.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Although we hold data on this one interaction type, the butterbur extract in Petadolex 75 has been studied for migraine headache and allergic rhinitis (hay fever) relief, and those studies don't necessarily include all the medications people take. Altogether, these interactions span 85 individual medications.
Most importantly: Petadolex 75 is labeled as a PA-free product, which is the safer form. Still, if you take any prescription medication — especially anything your doctor or pharmacist has told you speeds up liver function — use the search tool on this page to check your exact drugs before you start.
