Ther-Biotic Complete Ingredients & Drug Interactions
by Klaire Labs
What is this page for?
First and foremost: checking Ther-Biotic Complete against your medications. The heart of this page is the interaction checker and the full interaction report — how this product’s ingredients may interact with prescription and over-the-counter medicines you may be taking.
Around that, we add a pharmacist’s high-level view of the product as a whole — what’s inside, the evidence for its stated use, how transparent the label is, and what safety data exists — so you can see the full picture in one place. It’s educational information from our licensed clinical databases and the clinical staff at HelloPharmacist — not medical advice — and we don’t sell or endorse products. Our editorial policy

HelloPharmacist Scorecard of Ther-Biotic Complete by Klaire Labs
Our pharmacy team’s full take, with four database checks built into the cards below — a summary of what is known, not a grade of the product itself.
What’s inside
Low disclosure
Ther-Biotic Complete contains 12 active probiotic ingredients — bacterial strains that naturally live in your gut and are meant to support digestive and immune function. The checked strains include several Bifidobacterium species (breve, animalis lactis, longum, and bifidum), multiple Lactobacillus species (acidophilus, casei, paracasei, plantarum, rhamnosus, salivarius, and bulgaricus), and Streptococcus thermophilus.
The product also contains inactive ingredients — a vegetarian capsule, a polysaccharide complex called InTactic, and the amino acid L-leucine.
Does it work?
Moderate evidence
Evidence for most conditions is limited or not yet established in the data we hold. Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium bifidum are each rated Possibly Effective for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
Lactobacillus acidophilus is also rated Possibly Effective for Helicobacter pylori infection, antibiotic-associated diarrhea, and bacterial vaginosis, while Bifidobacterium bifidum is Possibly Effective for respiratory tract infections. For other uses — such as hay fever, anxiety, asthma, and cold prevention — the evidence is insufficient to rate these ingredients, meaning we simply don't have enough reliable data yet to know if they work.
How safe is it?
Well-documented data
The checked probiotic strains are generally well tolerated in healthy people. However, caution is advised for anyone who is seriously ill, immunocompromised, or in intensive care — rare cases of bacteremia (bacteria entering the bloodstream) and sepsis have been reported in critically ill infants and adults using these probiotics, particularly in preterm infants.
Uncommon gastrointestinal side effects such as bloating, flatulence, abdominal discomfort, and constipation have been reported. One case of a dry cough was reported with Bifidobacterium longum in a clinical trial.
Given the limited safety data overall, check with your doctor before starting this product, especially if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have a weakened immune system. Bifidobacterium longum is rated Possibly Safe in pregnancy and lactation; safety data for the other ingredients are not on file.
Meds to double-check
Moderate interaction found
Before you take Ther-Biotic Complete, check with your pharmacist if you're on antibiotic drugs — these are a Moderate interaction risk. The live bacterial strains in this product may be killed by antibiotics taken at the same time, making both less effective.
Timing them several hours apart helps. Use the search tool on this page to verify your specific antibiotic and other medications.
The bottom line
Scorecard at a glanceFormula with limited ingredient disclosure with some supporting evidence for its stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.
This probiotic blend may be worth considering if you have IBS, antibiotic-associated diarrhea, or bacterial vaginosis — several ingredients show some evidence for these uses. Be cautious if you're very ill, immunocompromised, or in the hospital; talk to your doctor before starting.
The main thing to watch: if you're taking antibiotics, separate them from this supplement by a few hours so the antibiotic doesn't kill the live cultures.

Ther-Biotic Complete by Klaire Labs Drug Interactions
HelloPharmacist Interaction Report
Ther-Biotic Complete by Klaire Labs is a probiotic supplement with multiple live bacterial strains.
Several of its ingredients interact with antibiotic drugs — a Moderate severity concern. When you take antibiotics at the same time as these probiotics, the antibiotics may kill the live organisms in the supplement, reducing its effectiveness.
The affected bacterial strains are Bifidobacterium breve, Bifidobacterium longum, Bifidobacterium bifidum, Lactobacillus delbrueckii (sold here as Lactobacillus bulgaricus), and Lactobacillus acidophilus. To avoid this, separate your doses — take the antibiotic and the probiotic a few hours apart, and ask your pharmacist for the best timing for your specific situation.
Read the full breakdown — every affected drug type, severity by severity
Altogether, these interactions span 182 individual medications.
We could not check five other ingredients in this product — Lactobacillus salivarius, Lactobacillus paracasei, Lactobacillus casei, Lactobacillus rhamnosus, and Lactobacillus plantarum — because we hold no data for them. Streptococcus thermophilus has been checked and shows no documented interactions in our data.
Use the medication checker on this page to verify your exact prescriptions before you start.
