Every active ingredient lists its own amount on the label.

Why this rating?
  • The label discloses an exact amount for 1 of its 1 active ingredient.
  • No proprietary blends here — you can verify the dose of every single component.

This product contains one active ingredient: hemp whole plant extract, which is a concentrate of the entire hemp plant. It's presented as a liquid, so you're getting the full spectrum of compounds the plant contains—not just isolated parts.

There are no other inactive ingredients listed.

Evidence for Intended Use · database check
By FDA rules, dietary supplements can’t claim to treat, cure, or prevent disease — so labels speak in careful marketing language. We discern each product’s intended use from its name, label claims, and label statements, then grade the clinical evidence for that use. How these ratings are computed
Not assessable

This is a single-ingredient Hemp product and its label doesn't state a use — see Hemp's own graded uses on its monograph.

Why this rating?
  • We looked at the product name, claims, and label statements and couldn't find a stated purpose to grade.

The evidence on hemp extract for the uses we have data for—constipation, eczema (atopic dermatitis), and high cholesterol (familial hypercholesterolemia)—is insufficient to rate. That means the studies so far aren't solid enough to say whether it works for these conditions.

We simply don't hold established effectiveness data for this product.

How safe is it?

Well-documented data
Safety Information · database check
Well characterized

Adverse-effect, pregnancy, and general safety data are on file for most of these ingredients.

Why this rating?
  • We hold adverse-effect (side-effect) data for 1 of the 1 matched ingredient.
  • Pregnancy & breastfeeding safety ratings cover 1 of 1.
  • General safety write-ups exist for 1 of 1.
  • Remember: this measures how much safety information exists. Thin data is not the same as being safe.

Hemp seed foods in normal amounts are generally well tolerated, but this is a concentrated extract, and concentrated hemp supplements are much less studied. The safety notes in our data advise caution with concentrated forms like this one.

In rare cases, people have reported allergic reactions including anaphylaxis (a severe, whole-body reaction), hives, facial swelling, and breathing trouble. There's also a rare case report of liver inflammation in a young child given high doses of hemp extract.

Most people tolerate hemp seed oil without problems, but because this is an extract rather than food, you're in less-charted territory.

Moderate interaction found

Moderate identified

The most serious documented interaction for these ingredients is Moderate. Check your medications for a personalized result.

Why this rating?
  • 1 of the 1 matched ingredient can interact with medications — Hemp.
  • The most serious interaction on file is rated Moderate.
  • Some involve high-stakes drug classes: anticoagulant / antiplatelet drugs.
  • For scale: 939 individual medications appear in the full list. A big number alone doesn't make a product dangerous — what matters is whether YOUR medication is on it, so run yours through the interaction checker on this page.

Before you take this product, double-check with your pharmacist if you're on any of these: hormone therapy or birth control (estrogens); blood pressure medications, including ACE inhibitors; blood thinners like warfarin or clopidogrel; or any drugs your liver processes through CYP1A2 or CYP3A4 enzymes—a category that includes a wide range of common medications. Hemp may interfere with how these work.

The bottom line

Scorecard at a glanceFully disclosed formula with no assessable stated purpose. Moderate medication interactions have been identified, and safety information is well characterized.

This product might be worth considering if you're interested in hemp's potential, but go in with realistic expectations—the evidence for what it does isn't established yet. If you take any medications, especially for blood pressure, hormones, or blood clotting, check with your pharmacist or doctor before starting.

Concentrated extracts like this one aren't as well studied as food amounts of hemp seed, so caution is the smart move.

Estrogens

Theoretically, hemp might interfere with hormone therapy due to its estrogenic effects.
In an ovariectomized animal model, a diet containing hemp seed 1%, 2%, or 10% resulted in normalized plasma levels of 17-beta-estradiol. The mechanism of action for this effect is unclear.

Likelihood Possible Evidence D
Ace Inhibitors (Aceis)

Theoretically, consuming hemp seed protein isolate with ACE inhibitors might have additive effects and increase the risk of hypotension.
Hemp seed protein hydrolysate has shown ACE inhibitor-like effects in a hypertensive animal model. However, hempseed oil consumption does not seem to reduce blood pressure in humans. Until more is known, monitor blood pressure and potassium levels.

Likelihood Unlikely Evidence D
Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs

Theoretically, hemp seed might increase the risk of bleeding when used concomitantly with anticoagulant/antiplatelet drugs.
In animal research, hemp seed at 5% of the diet inhibits platelet aggregation in vitro. However, in human research, taking hemp seed oil 2 grams daily for 12 weeks does not inhibit the aggregation of platelets in vitro.

Likelihood Possible Evidence D
Antihypertensive Drugs

Theoretically, hemp seed protein may have additive effects with antihypertensive drugs.
In a hypertensive animal model, hemp seed protein hydrolysate reduced systolic blood pressure by a mechanism possibly involving the inhibition of renin and angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) activities. However, there was no effect of hemp seed protein on blood pressure in normotensive animals. Furthermore, hempseed oil consumption does not seem to reduce blood pressure in humans.

Likelihood Unlikely Evidence D
Cytochrome P450 1A2 (Cyp1A2) Substrates

Theoretically, hemp might decrease the levels and clinical effects of CYP1A2 substrates.
In vitro research shows that hemp induces CYP1A2 enzymes.

Likelihood Possible Evidence D
Cytochrome P450 3A4 (Cyp3A4) Substrates

Theoretically, hemp might decrease the levels and clinical effects of CYP3A4 substrates.
In vitro research shows that hemp induces CYP3A4 enzymes.

Whole Hemp Plant Extract Full Spectrum by HempWorx: Common Questions

Does Whole Hemp Plant Extract Full Spectrum by HempWorx interact with any medications?
Yes. Based on its ingredients, Whole Hemp Plant Extract Full Spectrum has a known interaction with 938 medications. Use the checker to see how it interacts with a specific drug.
How can one product interact with so many drugs?
Whole Hemp Plant Extract Full Spectrum contains a single active ingredient, and that one ingredient can interact with many different medications on its own. We check it against each medication and show the mechanism responsible.
Where does this information come from?
The product label data comes from the NIH Dietary Supplement Label Database (DSLD); the interaction data is built on the Natural Medicines database and reviewed by HelloPharmacist pharmacists.
Is hemp extract safe to take while pregnant or breastfeeding?
Our data doesn't include pregnancy or lactation safety information for this product. You should talk with your doctor or pharmacist about whether it's right for you in these situations—they can help you weigh what's known and what isn't.
Can I be allergic to hemp extract?
Yes. While allergy to hemp seed is uncommon, it can happen. Reactions range from hives and facial swelling to severe anaphylaxis (a life-threatening allergic reaction) and breathing trouble. If you've never had hemp products before, be aware of these rare but real risks.
Does this product actually work for anything?
We don't have solid evidence that it works for the conditions studied—constipation, eczema, or high cholesterol. The evidence so far is insufficient to say one way or the other. You're essentially trying something that hasn't been proven yet.
Why is a concentrated extract riskier than hemp seed food?
Concentrated extracts pack more active compounds into a smaller amount than you'd get eating hemp seed as food. Because they're stronger and less common in people's diets, we simply haven't studied them as thoroughly, so we know less about how safe they are.
What should I do if I'm on birth control or hormone therapy?
Talk to your pharmacist before starting this product. Hemp may interfere with how your hormones are processed in your body, which could affect how well your medication works. It's not a reason to panic, but it's something to sort out with your healthcare provider first.
Is this hemp extract the same as CBD or THC?
This is a full-spectrum hemp plant extract, which means it contains compounds from the whole plant—not just isolated CBD or THC. Our data focuses on hemp extract itself and doesn't detail the exact makeup of this product, so check the label for specifics.
