STIMULANT DRUGS
Why this applies to Naproxen, Pseudoephedrine
Naproxen, Pseudoephedrine falls under STIMULANT DRUGS — the group 1,3-dmaa interacts with.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the thing to focus on with Aleve Cold and Sinus: the pseudoephedrine part is itself a stimulant decongestant. It already nudges up your heart rate and blood pressure on its own. DMAA is a powerful, amphetamine-like stimulant, so stacking the two means you're piling one stimulant on top of another. That can push things like a racing or pounding heartbeat, jitteriness, headache, and elevated blood pressure higher than either would alone.
To be fair, this concern is theoretical, based on how these drugs work rather than solid human studies of this exact combo. Still, DMAA has been pulled from the market over real heart-related harm, so I'd steer clear of it entirely. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before pairing it with any decongestant.

“Aleve Cold and Sinus pairs naproxen, an anti-inflammatory painkiller, with pseudoephedrine, a decongestant that acts as a mild stimulant, and that combination is why its supplement list runs to 334 entries and deserves real vigilance. The two biggest themes mirror the two drugs.”
