Higenamine, a constituent of aconite, is thought to have antiplatelet and antithrombotic effects. In an animal model of thrombosis, higenamine inhibited platelet aggregation and reduced the size of thrombus formation.

Here's the piece that matters most for Synalgos DC: it contains aspirin, which already thins your blood and reduces how well your platelets clump together. Aconite contains a compound called higenamine that, at least in lab and animal studies, seems to do something similar. Stack the two and, in theory, you could see more bruising, nosebleeds, bleeding gums, or stomach bleeding than aspirin alone would cause.

I want to be honest about the strength here: this is theoretical, based only on animal data, not real patient cases. That said, aconite itself is genuinely toxic and not something I'd recommend at all. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining anything with this medication.

Aconite and its constituents have stimulant effects due to agonist activity at beta-2-adrenoreceptors. In cardiac muscle, aconite appears to have a positive inotropic effect and increases heart rate and blood pressure. However, some constituents of aconite can reduce heart rate and blood pressure.

Here's the piece that matters with Synalgos DC: it contains caffeine, a stimulant. Aconite can also have stimulant-like effects on the heart, nudging heart rate and blood pressure up in some forms (though oddly, other parts of the plant can do the opposite). On paper, stacking aconite's heart effects on top of caffeine could add up to a faster heartbeat, palpitations, jitteriness, or higher blood pressure. The aspirin and dihydrocodeine portions aren't really the concern here.

Honestly, my bigger worry is aconite itself, which is genuinely poisonous and has no proven benefit. This interaction is only theorized from lab studies, but I'd steer clear of aconite entirely. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before using any product containing it.
