Here's the simple version: cutting way back on carbs the way the Atkins plan does naturally lowers your blood sugar. Your Metaglip already does the same thing, since the glipizide part pushes your body to release more insulin. Stack those two together and your sugar can dip lower than you expect, which means watch for shakiness, sweating, hunger, dizziness, or feeling foggy and weak.

This is more of a theoretical, common-sense caution than a proven danger, and it's rated minor. Still, it's real enough to take seriously. Don't stop or adjust your medicine on your own. Check your blood sugar more often when you start a low-carb diet, and let your doctor or pharmacist know so they can fine-tune your dose if needed.
