Insulin (rDNA) falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Baikal Skullcap interacts with.

Theoretically, concomitant use of Baikal skullcap with antidiabetes drugs might enhance blood glucose lowering effects.
Baicalein, a constituent of Baikal skullcap, has alpha-glucosidase inhibitory activity in vitro. Animal research also suggests that Baikal skullcap enhances the antidiabetic effects of metformin. However, in a small human study, taking Baikal skullcap extract did not enhance the antidiabetic effects of metformin, although it did modestly lower glucose levels during an oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT). Until more is known, use cautiously.

Here's the practical concern with pairing Baikal skullcap and your insulin: both work to bring blood sugar down. Insulin already lowers glucose directly, and lab and small human studies hint that this herb may nudge sugar levels a little lower too. Stacked together, that could push you toward hypoglycemia, with symptoms like shakiness, sweating, a racing heart, confusion, or feeling lightheaded.

I want to be honest that the evidence here is thin and partly theoretical, mostly from lab work and animal studies, with one small human trial showing only a modest effect. So this isn't a reason to panic. Still, since insulin can drop your sugar quickly, it's worth checking your readings closely and talking with your pharmacist or doctor before adding this supplement.

What Is Insulin Lispro Injection Used For?

Brand names: Humalog, Humalog Mix 75/25, Humulin R, Humulin N, Humulin L, Humulin 50/50, Humulin 70/30, Humulin U, NovoLog, Velosulin, Novolog Mix 70/30, Actrapid, Humulin S, Insuman Rapid

Insulin lispro injection is used to improve glycemic control (blood sugar management) in people with diabetes mellitus. It is a rapid-acting insulin analog approved for use in both type 1 and type 2 diabetes.

Admelog is specifically indicated to improve glycemic control in patients with diabetes mellitus. Humalog Mix75/25 is indicated to improve glycemic control in adults with diabetes mellitus; it is a fixed-ratio mixture of insulin lispro and insulin lispro protamine, and its fixed proportions do not allow for separate adjustment of basal (background) and prandial (mealtime) doses.
