Prucalopride falls under P-GLYCOPROTEIN SUBSTRATES — the group Baikal Skullcap interacts with.

Theoretically, Baikal skullcap might increase levels of drugs transported by P-glycoprotein.
In vitro and animal research suggests that baicalein, oroxylin A, and wogonin, constituents of Baikal skullcap, can inhibit P-glycoprotein. This effect has not been reported in humans.

Here's the basic idea with Baikal skullcap and prucalopride (Motegrity). Prucalopride is moved around the body partly by a little cellular pump called P-glycoprotein. In lab and animal studies, certain compounds in this herb (like baicalein and wogonin) seem to slow that pump down. If that happened in people, slightly more prucalopride could stay in your system, which might nudge up its usual effects, things like cramping, loose stools, headache, or nausea.

I want to be honest though: this is only a theoretical concern based on test-tube and animal work, never actually seen in humans, and it's rated minor. Prucalopride is not a prodrug, so the direction is simply a possible small increase, not a loss of benefit. Still, it's worth a quick mention to your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

About Prucalopride

What Is Prucalopride Used For?

Brand names: Resotran, Resolor, Motegrity

Prucalopride tablets — sold under the brand name Motegrity and also available as generic prucalopride and prucalopride succinate — are indicated for the treatment of chronic idiopathic constipation (CIC) in adults. CIC is ongoing constipation with no identified underlying cause.

This indication applies to all approved oral tablet forms of prucalopride. It is not approved for use in children; a study in pediatric patients was stopped early because the medication did not show effectiveness in that age group.
