Dasiglucagon Hydrochloride falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Bay Leaf interacts with.

Concomitant use of bay leaf with antidiabetes drugs might increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
Preliminary clinical research shows that bay leaf can lower blood glucose levels in patients with diabetes who are already taking antidiabetes medication. Advise patients to monitor glucose levels closely. Dose adjustments may be necessary.

Here's a twist worth knowing: dasiglucagon (Zegalogue) is actually an emergency rescue medicine. It works the opposite way from most diabetes drugs, by telling your liver to dump stored sugar into the blood and pull you out of a dangerous low. So bay leaf's mild blood-sugar-lowering effect doesn't make dasiglucagon stronger. If anything, you'd worry it could nudge against the very rescue you're trying to get.

In real life, this concern is mostly theoretical and based on how these things work, not on solid studies. The tiny amount of bay leaf in cooking is not going to interfere. Concentrated bay leaf supplements or essential oils are a different story, so if you use those and carry Zegalogue, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor.

What Is Dasiglucagon Injection Used For?

Brand name: Zegalogue

Zegalogue (dasiglucagon) is used to treat severe hypoglycemia — dangerously low blood sugar — in adults and children aged 6 years and older who have diabetes. It is a rescue medication meant to be used in emergencies when a person cannot eat or drink to raise their blood sugar on their own.

Zegalogue is available as a subcutaneous (under-the-skin) injection and is given by a caregiver or the patient themselves as soon as severe hypoglycemia is recognized. Emergency medical help should be called immediately after using it.
