Here's the twist with this pairing: glucagon does the opposite of most diabetes medicines. It's an emergency rescue treatment that tells your liver to dump stored sugar into your blood to pull you out of a dangerous low. Bay leaf, on the other hand, may gently lower blood sugar based on early research. So they're working against each other, but this isn't a dangerous mixing situation.

In practical terms, if bay leaf is nudging your sugar down, glucagon still works fine to bring you back up when you need it. Just keep in mind this interaction is theoretical and tied to concentrated bay leaf supplements, not the pinch you cook with. If you take bay leaf capsules regularly, mention it to your pharmacist so they can help you watch for lows.
