Aldesleukin falls under HEPATOTOXIC DRUGS — the group Camphor interacts with.

Theoretically, concomitant use of camphor with other hepatotoxic drugs might increase the risk of liver damage.
There have been a few case reports of transient elevations in liver enzymes in adults after oral or topical use of camphor. There has also been one case of hepatotoxicity in an infant after topical camphor use.

Here's the gist: Aldesleukin (Proleukin) is a powerful cancer immunotherapy given in the hospital, and one of its known risks is stress on the liver. Camphor, the cooling ingredient in many rub-on muscle and chest products, has rarely been linked to short-lived bumps in liver enzymes. So the worry here is simply that two things that can tax the liver might add up.

I want to be honest about how soft this concern is. It's theoretical, based on how these substances behave and a handful of case reports, not on solid studies. Used as directed on the skin in small amounts, camphor is unlikely to be the problem. Never swallow camphor, it can be toxic. Since you're receiving Aldesleukin, just run any camphor product past your oncology team or pharmacist first.
