Chloral Hydrate falls under CNS DEPRESSANTS — the group Cannabidiol (cbd) interacts with.

Theoretically, cannabidiol might have additive effects if used with other CNS depressants.
Preliminary clinical research, case reports, and animal studies suggest that high dose cannabidiol has sedative and hypnotic effects. Theoretically, concomitant use of cannabidiol with drugs with sedative and anesthetic properties may cause additive therapeutic and adverse effects.

Chloral hydrate is an older sedative that helps you fall asleep or calm down before a procedure. The concern here is simple: CBD, at higher doses, seems to have its own calming and sleep-promoting effects. Stack the two together and those effects can pile up. That could mean feeling extra drowsy, groggy, dizzy, or slow to wake up, and in larger amounts it could make breathing more shallow.

To be fair, this caution is theoretical, based on how each one works rather than strong human studies pairing them. Still, since both are sedating, it is worth being careful. Please don't start, stop, or adjust either one on your own. Just loop in your pharmacist or doctor so they can guide you safely.
