Orphenadrine falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2B6 (CYP2B6) SUBSTRATES — the group Cannabidiol (cbd) interacts with.

Theoretically, cannabidiol might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP2B6.
In vitro research shows that cannabidiol inhibits CYP2B6. However, this interaction has yet to be reported in humans. Until more is known, use with caution. Theoretically, concomitant use of cannabidiol with CYP2B6 substrates might increase the risk for adverse effects from these substrates.

Here's the gist: your body uses a liver enzyme called CYP2B6 to help break down orphenadrine. In lab (test tube) studies, CBD appears to slow that enzyme down. If that happened in real life, orphenadrine could clear more slowly and build up a bit, which might bump up its usual side effects. With orphenadrine that tends to mean more drowsiness, dry mouth, blurry vision, dizziness, constipation, or a faster heartbeat.

The important caveat: this is theoretical and has not actually been reported in people, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Still, since both can make you sleepy, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them, especially before driving.

Orphenadrine citrate is used to ease discomfort from acute, painful musculoskeletal conditions — things like muscle pain and stiffness. It is always used as part of a broader treatment plan that includes rest and physical therapy, not as a stand-alone cure.

Both the extended-release tablet and the injection form are approved for this use. Neither form directly relaxes tight muscles — the relief it provides is thought to be related to its pain-relieving (analgesic) properties.
