Ethotoin falls under CNS DEPRESSANTS — the group Cannabidiol (cbd) interacts with.

Theoretically, cannabidiol might have additive effects if used with other CNS depressants.
Preliminary clinical research, case reports, and animal studies suggest that high dose cannabidiol has sedative and hypnotic effects. Theoretically, concomitant use of cannabidiol with drugs with sedative and anesthetic properties may cause additive therapeutic and adverse effects.

Ethotoin (Paganone) is an older anti-seizure medicine related to phenytoin. Like many seizure drugs, it can make you feel drowsy or foggy on its own. CBD also tends to have a calming, sedating effect, especially at the higher doses found in concentrated supplements. So the main concern here is simple addition: put the two together and you may feel sleepier, more lightheaded, or slower to react than with either one alone.

This is a theoretical concern based on how each one behaves, not a well-documented problem, so I don't want you to panic. Still, be careful with driving until you know how the combination affects you. Don't change or stop your ethotoin on your own. A quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor is the safest way to use CBD alongside it.
