Preliminary clinical research, case reports, and animal studies suggest that high dose cannabidiol has sedative and hypnotic effects. Theoretically, concomitant use of cannabidiol with drugs with sedative and anesthetic properties may cause additive therapeutic and adverse effects.

Pentobarbital is a barbiturate, which is a strong sedative that slows down your brain and nervous system. CBD, especially in higher supplement doses, can be calming and sleepy in its own right. So the concern here is simple addition: two things that quiet the brain, stacked together. That could mean more drowsiness, foggy thinking, slower breathing, low blood pressure, or feeling unsteady on your feet.

I want to be honest that this is a theoretical concern based on how these substances behave, not proven cause-and-effect at every dose. Still, with a powerful drug like pentobarbital, I wouldn't take chances. Please check with your doctor or pharmacist before combining them so they can watch your dose and how alert you feel.
